Day 1

Arrival Day

We will be there to pick you up from your arrival airport, be it London's Gatwick (50 minutes) or Heathrow airport (100 minutes). No matter the time, we will be waiting for you with a friendly smile.

Why not have a glass of bubbly on your journey down to Orchid House. It will be a wonderful start to the amazing and luxurious vacation that awaits you. Upon arrival at the house you will be greeted with your favourite cocktail or mocktail or an English cup of Rosy (Rosie Lee, meaning Tea) and then you will be shown to your beautiful room to unpack and unwind, but don't just stay in your room, come down and meet the rest of the troops and get a tour of the house. We are all very eager to meet you and welcome you in person. You can then relax in the garden or in the bar and look forward to your evening meal prepared by our very own private chefs, Ashley & Alex.

Exploring Worthing

After an early lunch, we can take a wander down to Worthing town to take in everything that Worthing has to offer. We can stop off along the way to have a drink at a typical English pub, stroll down the pier, enjoy the beach, visit the museum and art galleries before heading back to the house to enjoy pre-dinner cocktails and canapes in anticipation of the evening meal prepared by our chefs, followed by a nightcap. Then it is an early start the next day.

Day 3 - am

Bodiam Castle

Bodiam Castle is a 14th-century moated castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex, England. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III, with the permission of Richard II, ostensibly to defend the area against French invasion during the Hundred Years' War.

Lunch is a wonderful picnic prepared by our chefs and weather-permitting, you can enjoy it on the grounds of Bodiam Castle.

But don't get too comfy as we have somewhere to be in the afternoon.

Day 3 - pm

Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest

Bedgebury is a 320-acre woodland area of monumental natural beauty, but don't worry, we don't expect you to walk the entire length of this picturesque place, only the Pinetum trail with either a short or a long loop depending on time constraints and the good old trusted British weather. Fret not though, you are in good hands as we have Wellies, Brollies and Barbers for all occasions.

Day 4

Arundel & Arundel Castle

Arundel is a market town and civil parish in the Arun District of the South Downs. This much-conserved town has a medieval castle and Roman Catholic cathedral. Arundel has a museum, antique shops, tea shops and comes second behind much larger Chichester in its number of listed buildings in West Sussex. There is so much to take in. You will love every second of it. When you are ready, we will return to Orchid House for more cocktails and canapes in anticipation of the three-course dinner prepared by Chefs Ashley & Alex and followed by a nightcap .

Day 5 - am

Sheffield Park & Vineyard

We can't possibly visit this beautiful park of outstanding natural beauty in Uckfield and not finish the day by visiting one of our favourite local vineyards, if they are open for tours that is!

Prepare to soak in as much nature, beauty and wine and local hospitality as your heart can take. But since you won't have to drive back, why not let your hair down and enjoy the fun.

If the vineyard is closed, don't be disappointed, the afternoon gets even more exciting, as we always have a plan B, C, D...

Day 5 - pm

Afternoon Tea & Bluebell Railway Station

The Afternoon Tea is taken on the Wealden Rambler steam train. Travelling through 11 miles of glorious Sussex scenery behind a steam engine! Bluebell Railway was one of the first preserved heritage lines in the country, resulting in one of the finest collections of vintage steam locomotives and carriages – many of which were preserved straight out of service from British Railways. This is an afternoon you won't want to miss.

Lewes!

Lewes has so many wonderful things to offer, least of all its very own Castle, but wait, Young's Brewery, no doubt you will have heard all about this Brewery from one of our keen team members upon your arrival! Well now is your chance to sample their wonderful selection. But, before you get carried away, there is so much more to see and so many little surprises that await you. Be prepared to be wowed.

Day 6 - pm

More of Lewes or Brighton

With so much to take in, there may not be enough time to visit Brighton, but depending on how fast you can walk, we may actually make it to Brighton. At the very least we must visit the Brighton Pavilion, and why not? So much history, intrigue and questions and answers... you will undoubtedly want more.

Day 7

Winchester

Winchester is a city in the county of Hampshire, on the edge of England's South Downs National Park. It’s known for medieval Winchester Cathedral, with its 17th-century Morley Library, the Winchester Bible and a Norman crypt. Nearby are the ruins of Wolvesey Castle and the Winchester City Mill, a working 18th-century corn mill. The Great Hall of Winchester Castle houses the medieval round table linked to King Arthur. There really is far too much to see in one day, but we will try to cram it all in.

Day 8

Departure Day

We really hate goodbyes. Although it has been a short trip of only 7 nights, we are sure you will have plenty to talk about to your friends and family upon your return home, but we want you to know that although you arrived on day 1 as guests, you will have left on day 8 as friends and we hope you will keep in touch with us for years to come and we definitely hope to see you again on another exciting adventure. Don't forget there really is so much more to see and explore and discover and we hope you will choose to do it all again with us. Since it is time to say farewell, you will of course be well fed and watered and safely delivered to your airport in time for your trip back home.
